“The best way to predict the future is to invent it”
~ Alan Kay
What if you were to decide that your next round of golf was going to be a movie?
How much better do you think you would play if:
- You wore your very best gear – so you looked immaculate on the course just like you would do in a movie
- You cleaned your clubs ’til they were shining and removed all the rubbish and crap from your bag
- You only used brand new premium balls
- You stocked your bag with bananas, protein bars and water. Just like the pros do (with the obvious exception of Monty)
- You arrived early to allow yourself too loosen up, hit a few practice balls and strike a few putts
- You stood on the first tee, totally calm and prepared
- You had taken time before you left for the course to create a clear movie script of every hole and every shot you would take on that hole
- You stuck to that script – you didn’t decide to take your driver when you knew the three wood would do “just to try and outdrive your playing partner”
- When you hit a bad shot you calmly took it in your stride and quickly got back into the script.
- You took your time and produced your full pre-shot routine before EVERY shot. Just like you would if the cameras were rolling.
Do you think you might play better if you did this?
Do you think you might enjoy the round more?
Why not give it a go and see how you get on?
throw in a caddy, and I’m in!
Great advice. I always play better when I plan… and yet I nearly always forget
